Ebara Reverse Osmosis Optimization (ROOP) System

Abstract

The Ebara Reverse Osmosis Optimization (ROOP) System was evaluated to determine if it could meet or be adapted to meet the Army's requirement for an automated subsystem capable of providing process control and data acquisition for reverse osmosis water purification units (ROWPUs). The technical operation was satisfactory; however, it was concluded that operationally, the system was too sophisticated for routine field operations with the 600 and 3,000 gph ROWPU. Some benefits may be derived when used with the 150,000 gpd barge which is more analogous to operations in a stationary water purification plant. Total dissolved solids (TDS), Gallons per hour (gph), Central processing unit (CPU), Gallons per day (gpd).
