Using Iterative Orthophoto Refinements to correct Digital Elevation Models (DEM's)

Abstract

A new technique is described that can be used to correct the digital elevation data obtained using digital correlation methods on terrain stereoimages. The new technique takes advantage of the speed of modern computers and the inherent geometric relationship between elevation data and orthophotographs to provide speedy, accurate and nearly automatic method for both generating and correcting digital elevation models (DEM's).
