The Role of the Buffalo Soldiers during the Spanish-American War

Abstract

This study documents the accomplishments of the Buffalo Soldiers during the Spanish-American War. This study is limited to the 9th and 10th Cavalry only. The thesis covers the Battles of Las Guasimas and San Juan Hill (Kettle Hill). The study covers the integration of the Buffalo Soldiers with the in-famous Rough Riders and Teddy Roosevelt. Additionally, Medal of Honor awardees are addressed. Buffalo Soldiers, 9th and 10th Cavalry, Spanish-American War and Black Soldiers, Indian Wars and Black Soldiers.
