Photonic Materials and Devices for Optical Information Processing and Computing Applications

Abstract

The research program described in this report addresses several generic avenues of opportunity in the advancement of a sophisticated component technology base for applications in optical signal processing, optical information processing, and optical computing. As such, the research program is multifaceted as well as highly interdisciplinary, spanning activities from material growth, processing and characterization through device invention and evaluation to preliminary system level integration.
