Updating DoD Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Peer Groups,

Abstract

This document presents the methodology and data employed in updating DoD Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) peer groups. Peer groups were originally constructed in the development of a Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) based resource allocation methodology using FY 1986 data, and subsequently updated using FY 1988 data. The current focus is upon updating the peer groups using FY 1990 data; however, some modification of the methodology was performed in order to accommodate available data. FY 1990 peer groups resulting from the new data and methodology are presented and compared to the FY 1988 peer groups. MTFs; DRGS; Peer Groups.
