A Database Approach to Aircraft Carrier Airplan Production

Abstract

This thesis addresses a known problem in Carrier Aviation. The problem is the constant duplication of effort writing the carrier airplan. This problem is common to all airwings and results in late airplan publish times which reduce the combat effectiveness of the battlegroup. The analysis of the airplan Is accomplished through the establishment of a database of carrier airplans. The database interacts with a spreadsheet designed to help Strike Operations aboard the carrier streamline the process of writing the airplan. The Prototype model developed accepts inputs from the Assistant Strike Operations Officer. The model searches the database for airplans that conform to his inputs and provides candidate airplans for review. Once an airplan is selected, an airplan template, In spreadsheet format, can be altered to meet any required changes. Once changed to meet specific tasking the final product can be saved. After a period of operations the database search file can be updated to mold the database to a specific ship and airwing's standard operating routine. Airplan Production, Database, Airplan.
