Stabilized Iodine Flow for Long Run Time Chemical Oxygen-Iodine Lasers

Abstract

A computer-controlled iodine flow rate system has been built for the chemical oxygen-iodine laser. An optical measurement was used to determine iodine flow rate, and helium flow rate was varied to maintain a constant flow rate during long laser tests. The automated system worked well over a wide range of iodine flow rates and initial conditions.
