Radar/Sonar and Time Series Analysis

Abstract

The IMA program on Radar and Sonar was a follow-up on a portion of the 1988 IMA summer program on Signal Processing; it included ideas which were suggested by the participants of that program. Our goal was to increase the interaction between mathematicians and electrical engineers in universities and mathematical scientists in industry working on significant problems in radar or sonar. The first week of the program was tutorial. The second week was devoted to presentations of problems by scientists from industry or universities. The problems we were looking for were those of significance to the field of radar or sonar as well as containing mathematical issues.
