Heat Transfer Mechanisms in Navy Clothing Materials.

Abstract

The Navy Clothing and Textile Research Facility (NCTRF) studied heat transfer mechanisms in Navy clothing materials to determine their individual effects on total insulation values. The evaluated clothing were the A-1 (or extreme-)cold-weather clothing, the submarine-deck-exposure suit, and the crash-crew firefighters' clothing ensemble.
