Survey of Antenna Design Computer Models

Abstract

This report presents an overview of existing computer models available for antenna design and performance evaluation. It discusses the various solution techniques, such as the method of moments, finite element and high frequency (asymptotic) techniques, and their limitations with respect to frequencies, computer resources available, and antenna type and surrounding structures needed to be modeled. Sample problems are presented along with availability of the codes. Current areas of research are also discussed.
