Air Force Snowfall Statistics for Engineering Applications

Abstract

Describes the engineering snowfall data provided by the USAF environmental Technical Applications Center (USAFETAC) to the Air Force Civil Engineering Support Agency (AFCESA). Total snowfall and maximum daily snowfall amounts are used in determining allocations of snow removal equipment. Total snowfall amounts during worst storms help engineers design structures. This paper describes the data and tells how it was derived. Includes tables that give example statistics for selected installations.
