Directory of Wetland Plant Vendors
Abstract
Acquisition of wetland plant materials is often limited by knowledge of wetland plant vendor locations and the materials they supply. Government, industrial, and private interests need large quantities of selected plant species from ecological regions similar to locations of wetland projects. Local vendors do not necessarily supply the species of interest, and the species may not be available in the volumes required. No systematic listing of wetland plant vendors (along with the plant species they routinely supply) has been developed to help locate regional supplies of target wetland species. The Directory of Wetland Plant Vendors was compiled to provide a national listing of commercial vendors indexed by wetland plant species. The directory provides a list of wetland vendors and addresses by state, a list of obligate and facultative wetland plant species on the 'National List of Plant Species That Occur in Wetlands: 1988 National Summary,' wholesale and retail vendors that supply each species, and the propagule types (seed and/or vegetative propagule) that are routinely available....
