Operator Interface Assessment for the Sensor Fusion Flight Demonstration Program

Abstract

Multiple sensors were flown during an avionics integration flight demonstration. A millimeter wave radar with an automatic target cuer was employed to perform real-time concealed critical mobile target detection. Forward looking infrared and laser line scan sensors were used to support target confirmation. An operator interface was designed and evaluated by operational command subject matter experts. An automated sensor management system was used to reduce crew workload.... Man-machine, Interface, Workload, Target acquisition.
