40MM Ammunition PA120 Container Pallet Rail Impact Test

Abstract

The U.S. Army Defense Ammunition Center and School (USADACS), Validation Engineering Division (SMCAC-DEV), was tasked by USADACS, Supply Engineering Division (SMCAC-DES), to conduct rail impact testing on the 40mm ammunition pallet. This report contains the procedures, results, and recommendations from the test conducted. As tested, the pallet marginally passed rail impact testing and would require first article testing (FAT) of the production pallets.
