Development of Novel Ferrite Antennas
Abstract
We have performed and successfully completed a phase I study involving an isolated ferrite patch antenna possessing a circular or a rectangular geometry. The radiation frequencies measured as a function of the biasing magnetic field compared quantitatively with our theory. Measurements on the radiation patterns confirmed the nature of the normal modes of the patch antennas. Ferrite patch antennas may be used for the following purposes: generation of circularly polarized radiations, wide frequency tuning range for single model application, and RCS reduction on patch antennas.
