Isothermal Annealing and Relaxation of the Second Harmonic Generation Signal from a Nonlinear Optical Polymer

Abstract

Results of the first detailed study of the effect of isothermal annealing on the relaxation behavior of the second harmonic generation signal below Tg of nonlinear optical (NLO) polymers are presented. Lengthening of the NLO chromophore relaxation time by isothermal poling suggests a strategy for preparing a stable NLO material.
