The Culicoides of Southeast Asia (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae)

Abstract

One-hundred and sixty-eight species of Culicoides are recorded from Southeast Asia, a region comprising the countries of Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. A Taxonomic key is given for the identification of adults (based mainly on females), and an atlas of wing photographs is arranged in taxonomic sequence. For each species there is a complete synonymy, description, distribution, Southeast Asia locality records, and a summary of what is known of the biology and taxonomic importance. ...
