Construction Productivity Advancement Research (CPAR) Program

Abstract

This report summarizes the results obtained from a 2-year research study on asphalt rubber. The research study was part of a joint project between the US Army Corps of Engineers and the Asphalt Rubber Producers Group (ARPG) under the Corps Construction Productivity Advancement Research (CPAR) program. Individual studies of differing research areas were conducted by several agencies, including: the US Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station's (WES) Pavement Systems Division, the University of Nevada-Reno (UNR), the University of Arizona (UA), International Surfacing, Inc. (ISI), and Crafco, Inc. Each individual study is presented in a separate chapter of this summary report. Details of the research conducted by WES for this project have previously been published in the Interim Report CPAR-GL-92-1 entitled "Evaluation of Asphalt Rubber Binders in Porous Friction Courses."
