Advanced Unmanned Search System (AUSS) Surface Navigation, Underwater Tracking, and Transponder Network Calibration

Abstract

This report describes the surface navigation and underwater tracking system capabilities used in support of the Advanced Unmanned Search System (AUSS) development program. Various surface navigation and underwater tracking modes and the hardware involved are discussed. Navigation and tracking performance objectives are stated, and where available, at-sea test data results are presented to support claims. The hardware and software necessary for the deployment and calibration of a typical underwater tracking range, used for monitoring AUSS position, are discussed.... Advanced Unmanned Search System (AUSS), Surface navigation, Underwater tracking, Transponder network calibration.
