The Environmental and Impact Resistance of Adhesively Bonded Thermoplastic Fibre Composites

Abstract

This Final Report presents and discusses the results obtained in the following areas (1) Mode I and mixed mode testing of bonded joints (2) the use of an oxygen plasma surface treatment to pretreat thermoplastic fibre composites before bonding (3) the effect of test rate on the fracture behaviour of bonded joints and finally (4) the effects of test environment on the fracture behaviour of bonded joints.
