Financial Audit: Forest Service's Financial Statements for Fiscal Year 1988

Abstract

This report contains separate reports on the Forest Service's system of internal accounting controls and on its compliance with laws and regulations. Our report on the forest Service's system of internal accounting controls discloses material weaknesses affecting the Serviceability to prepare accurate and reliable external financial reports, including its year-end reports to the Department of the Treasury and the Office of Management and Budget. The Forest Service has recognized and begun to correct some of theses weaknesses.
