Abstract

This chapter explains the purpose of the convention, the scope the guidance, and provides an explanation of how to use the convention. The convention provides general guidance on the implementation of American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12 electronic data interchange (EDI) standards within automated information systems (AIS) and information interchange procedures that require the collection, reporting, and/ or exchange of data needed to perform defense missions.
