Medical Aspects of Cold Weather Operations: A Handbook for Medical Officers

Abstract

Soldiers engaged in military operations in cold weather are at risk of cold weather injuries and illnesses. This technical note reviews the physiology of cold exposure, the prevention of cold injuries, the medical management of cold injuries and provides briefing points for medical personnel to use in training.
