Education in Crisis.

Abstract

Education is a central cog in the development of a nation and its people. Over the past 20 years America has seen its public education system fall to prepare students for their rightful place in society. To further justify education's rightful place in our social framework the political parties of this country dedicated considerable platform space and energy to present a program of educational reform. This study examines the political arguments for educational reform, and discusses various approaches. It is an attempt to identify the need for change, and proposes that the key to educational reform lies in the very institutions that need to be changed. It proposes a reclamation of our imagination, and encourages the educational community to be bold and aggressive when pursuing change.
