Archaeological Investigations at the Lewis Site (3LE266): A Twentieth- Century Black Owned Farmstead on the St. Francis Floodway, Lee County, Arkansas

Abstract

The historic component recognized at the site as an artifact scatters appears to date from the early to mid 20th century. The site fits into a settlement pattern of black owners and tenants along the south bank of Cow Bayou during the height of farm tenancy.
