Abstract

The document is organized as follows: (1) Introduction; (2) Needs Survey; (3) Field Interviews; and (4) Conclusions. The needs survey investigated the problems with mission-critical systems development and maintenance, and the field interviews were conducted with practicing systems engineers; their findings present information concerning important systems engineering issues. The overall needs conclusions are presented in the final section.
