Environmental Guide for ASW in Eastern Canadian Shallow Waters. Part 2: Environmental Data

Abstract

This document includes environmental data for the following topics: (1) Bottom features such as bathymetry, sediment types, physiographic provinces, false targets, and magnetic anomalies; (2) Climatology data for wind, visibility, air temperature, precipitation, sea ice, and icing; and (3) Oceanographic data including waves, currents description, sea surface temperature, water masses and fronts, and temperature. Other topics relevant to antisubmarine warfare are discussed in this report. Some of these include marine biology, commercial shipping and fishing and acoustics.
