Department of the Air Force FY 1994 Budget Estimates, DoD Base Realignment and Closure. Part 2. Justification Data Submitted to Congress: April 1993

Abstract

The following schedule was developed to minimize the impact on Air Force mission capability while placing priority of closing the thirteen bases and realigning one base as recommended by the 1991 Base Closure Commission and directed by the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Act, P.L. 101-510. It is the Air Force's objective to close the thirteen bases and realign one base at the earliest opportunity to take advantage of savings provided by reductions to Air Force end strength, reductions to base operating support costs, and anticipated proceeds from sale of real property at the closure bases. The savings associated with these closure actions are for display purposes only and will accrue in other Air Force accounts. The funding profiles associated with the schedule have been programmed to accomplish this objective. Also included are those requirements generated by the 1991 Base Closure Commission changes to the 1988 Base Closure Commission recommendations.
