P2NBC2 Heat Strain Decision Aid. User's Guide, Version 2.1
Abstract
This report describes the capabilities and proper use of the P2NBC2 Heat Strain Decision Aid Software System. The P2NBC2 HSDA is a stand alone analytical tool for evaluating the effects of heat stress on soldier performance limits. User inputs include clothing type/chemical protective posture, activity level based on military task type, soldier anthropometric characteristics and acclimatization status, and environmental conditions (air temperature, wind speed, humidity, and solar radiation). The P2NBC2 HSDA provides color graphics, tabular, and data file outputs for heat casualty risk, sustainable work/rest cycle limits, maximum safe work time, and associated drinking water requirements.
