Data and Knowledge Engineering (DKE). Case Study Report

Abstract

The purpose of this case study is to identify potential for the application of Active Database (ADB) concepts to Navy Commands and Control (C2). Military C2 databases are in the process of transitioning to relational database management systems (RDBMS). This will greatly enhance the user's ability to query the databases and extract useful information rapidly, however it will not address the existing requirements for data integrity and consistency or situation monitoring
