New Organic Materials for Nonlinear Optics Applications.

Abstract

The formation of polaron-like radical cations and bipolaron-like dications in oligomer series related to polyacetylene, polyP-PHENYLENE (PPV), poly2,5-THIENYLENE VINYLENE (PTV), POL and PTL were studied in solution and composite films. Chi(3) measurements were carried out in collaboration with Professors Larry Dalton and Robert Hellwarth (USC). Conclusive evidence was obtained that demonstrates bipolaronic-enhancement of X(3).... Bipolaron, Polaron, Polymer, Composite, Chi(3).
