A Command Editor Tool for NEXTSTEP

Abstract

Marble Associates, Inc., is engaged in the development of customizable menus in NEXTSTEP and the design of customizable menus in the X windowing environment. In this document, we present the final design and implementation details of the Command Editor in NEXTSTEP. To reiterate the objectives stated in previous submissions. We strive to do the following in building the Command Editor: (1) retain all functionalities of the standard NEXTSTEP environment; (2) add functionalities in a manner keeping with NEXTSTEP, mimicking the user and developer interaction mechanisms of NEXTSTEP; and (3) maintain interoperability among our customized objects and standard system objects
