Dynamic Response of Pressure Measuring Systems

Abstract

The measurement of time varying pressures is limited when a pressure transmission line must be used. The type of pressure transducer can further limit the speed at which pressure changes can be observed. This report investigates these limitations by subjecting commonly used pressure line tubing and pressure transducers to a step pressure input. By spectrally analyzing the response to this step input a frequency response for the system can be determined.
