Modeling, Estimation and Control of Distributed Parameter Systems

Abstract

Research on theoretical ideas (well-posedness, feedback control, stability of inverse problems, form of damping in structures) and associated computational methods was performed. Topics include (1) fluid/structure interaction and flow control with applications to Navier-Stokes steady flow, Burgers equation, advection-diffusion, porous media flow, and acoustics/noise suppression (2) inverse problems for detection of semiconductor defects, electrical impedance tomography, damping and 'smart' material actuators in composite structures (3) linear, nonlinear and homogenization models for beams, plates, shells and PZT actuators and sensors....
