Remote-Sensing Survey of the Bayou Labranche Wetlands Restoration Borrow Area, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana

Abstract

A remote-sensing survey was conducted at a proposed 500-acre borrow area in western Lake Pontchartrain just off the mouth of Bayou Labranche, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana. Diver examination was conducted at the targets selected as potential cultural properties. No significant cultural remains were found at any of the target locations. A synthesis of documentary information provides a history of the use and settlement of Bayou Labranche and vicinity....
