Synthesis of N-(1-Benzyl)-4-Methoxycarbonyl-4-Piperidinyl N- Phenylpropanamide

Abstract

Conditions have been identified for optimization of the hydrolysis of the key alpha-aminonitrile intermediate in the synthesis of the title compound. An extensive search of the literature has discovered an unusual methoxycarbonyl anion equivalent which has been examined by means of a readily available model for addition to the corresponding imine.
