Femtosecond Carrier Processes in Compound Semiconductors and Real Time Signal Processing

Abstract

This report is the final report on research conducted under the auspices of the Joint Services Electronics Program at Cornell University. The research is grouped under two themes: (1) femtosecond carrier processes in compound semiconductors, and (2) real time signal processing. Results on OMVPE materials growth, femtosecond laser probing of hot carriers, and ensemble Monte Carlo simulations are reported on under the first theme. Accomplishments on VLSI algorithms, fault tolerance architectures, and architectures with multiple functional units for signal processing are given under the second theme.
