F. E. Warren AFB Explosive Safety Quantity Distance Site Plan. Section II: Launch Facilities Peacekeeper in Minuteman Silos.

Abstract

The purpose of this document is to present the second of a two-part submission of the Explosive Safety Site Plan for basing the Peacekeeper Missile in Minuteman silos at F.E. Warren AFB, Wyoming. Section I, submitted on 18 January 1984, covered the explosive safety considerations and requirements that apply to the support facilities on base at F.E. Warren AFB. On 2 March 1984 Headquarters Air Force provided notification that the Department of Defense Explosive Safety Board had approved Section I of the Peacekeeper Explosive Safety Quantity-Distance Siting Plan. This submission (Section II) addresses the one hundred Minuteman Launch Facilities (LFs) at Wing V (319th and 400th Strategic Missile Squadrons) in Wyoming and Nebraska. It contains the information necessary to achieve an understanding of the required launch facility modifications, assembly operations (which occur at the launch facility), the LF sitings relative to public traffic routes and near-by non-Air Force owned facilities and utility lines, and the explosive safety criteria utilized.
