Algorithms for UTD Edge and Corner Diffractions.

Abstract

The Uniform Geometrical Theory of Diffraction can be effectively used to incorporate edge diffraction and corner diffraction effects into electromagnetic scattering computer codes. This has been successfully accomplished at The Ohio State University ElectroScience Laboratory for years in basic shape user oriented computer codes. The algorithms developed in these simpler applications can be extended for use in more complicated geometry codes, thereby adding finite edge diffraction glints to already available specular glints. The purpose of this brief report is to outline the pertinent theory, algorithms, and example computer subroutines that can be used to accomplish this task.
