Cloudiest Year Study: An Analysis of the 3DNEPH and RTNEPH Databases

Abstract

Describes techniques used to analyze total cloud cover values from the USAF Environmental Technical Applications Center's nephanalysis databases: 3DNEPH and RTNEPH. Object of the study was to determine if total global cloud cover differed significantly on a year-to-year basis. Contoured global maps in an appendix show the Meteorology, Climatology, Clouds, Cloud cover, Nephanalysis, Databases, Comparisons, Eighth-mesh grid, Whole-mesh grid.
