Authority for Establishing Special Command Positions

Abstract

This Directive updates and reissues reference (a) DoD Directive 1100. 12. It establishes DoD policy and assigns responsibilities for the designation of special command positions, which may be authorized special amenities. It prescribes procedures for regulations and uniform practices for the supply and replacement of special furnishings, as described in reference (c) DoD 4165.63-M, DoD Housing Management, for use in special command quarters of officers of the Armed Forces. This Directive applies to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), the Military Departments, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Joint Staff, the Unified and Specified Commands, the Inspector General of the Department of Defense, the Defense Agencies, and the DoD Field Activities.
