Abstract

This Directive reissues reference (a), DoD Directive 1330.5, to update its provisions with regard to Department of Defense support service authorized for Red Cross personnel and their dependents, including commissary store and exchange privileges, hospitalization and medical care, recreation facilities, dependent's schools, and Armed Forces postal services, and incorporate technical and editorial changes. Reference (a) is hereby superseded and cancelled. This Directive states the objectives and outlines policies governing Armed Forces cooperation with and use of the services of the American Red Cross (hereinafter referred to as the Red Cross) pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2602, and enumerates DoD support services to be provided to the Red Cross and its personnel.
