Management of DoD Locomotives

Abstract

This Instruction provides DoD policy for management of locomotives, designates the Department of the Army as DoD point of contact for locomotive information, and assigns responsibilities for management of locomotives. This Instruction authorizes the development and maintenance of DoD 4140.50-R, 'Management and Standards of DoD Locomotives,' consistent with DoD 5025.1-M, 'Directives System Procedures,' April 1981, authorized by DoD Directive 5025.1, October 16, 1980.
