Position Data Analysis Job Aid (PDAT-JA) Prototype Software (Version 2. 0), User's Manual
Abstract
The position data analysis job aid (PDAT-JA) software is a product of research initiated under the Systems Research Laboratory of the Army Research Institute (ARI) and completed under the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL). It was developed as part of the military occupational specialty (MOS) restructuring research and development program. First released in December 1990, the prototype software has been enhanced with additional features in response to user requests and is being released as Version 2.0. This user's manual, accompanying the Version 2.0 release, has been prepared to provide instruction for the use of PDAT-JA by Army personnel, proponent analysts, and others who perform position data analysis as part of the Army's MOS restructuring process. The manual provides procedures for installing PDAT-JA on personal computers and instructions for importing MOS authorizations data, analyzing and editing these data to represent new MOS structures, and producing reports describing the environmental, structural, and deployment characteristics of the MOSs being studied. The PDAT-JA software can be obtained from the Defense Technical Information Center, Cameron Station, Alexandria, Virginia 22304-6145.
