Materiel Management Policy

Abstract

This Directive: reissues reference (a) DoD Directive 4140.1, 'Inventory Management Policies', October 12, 1956 (hereby canceled), to update policy, responsibilities, and procedures for material management. It continues to authorize publication of the subordinate DoD issuances listed in enclosure 2, in accordance with reference (b) DoD 5025.1-M, 'DoD Directives System Procedures.' It authorizes the publication of the DoD Material Management Instruction and Regulation, and the Defense Secondary Item Statification Manual.
