Aircraft Metals Technology AFSC 458X0 (Projected AFSC 2A7X1).

Abstract

This is report of an occupational survey of the Aircraft Metals Technology career ladder (AFSC 458X0) conducted by the Occupational Analysis Flight, USAF Occupational Measurement Squadron. Headquarters (HQ) Air Education and Training Command (AETC). Technical Training Operations Directorate, requested this survey to accommodate the Rivet Workforce merger of AFSCs 427X4 (Metals Processing) and 427X0 (Machinist) in October 1989. The survey was administered after the initial turbulence of the merger had settled, but before the centralization of the technical training schools at Aberdeen Proving Ground MD in October 1993. The current (15 September 1992) Plan of Instruction (POI) was obtained for this study. The results of analysis are included in the TRAINING ANALYSIS section of this report. The last survey reports pertaining to AFSC 458X0 career ladder were published in August 1985 (Metals Processing) and August 1987 (Machinist)
