The Surveillance, Reconnaissance, Intelligence Concept and Organization

Abstract

The current Surveillance, Reconnaissance, Intelligence Group (SRIG) organization requires changes in command relationships, educational indoctrination, and structure in order to provide a quality service to the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Commander. This paper examines the origins of the SRIG from its rocky beginnings to the present day. Issues involving doctrine, command relationships, and education are identified and discussed.
