Hydrazine Blending and Storage Facility Wastewater Treatment and Decommissioning Assessment. Version 3.1

Abstract

Task 34 involves the development of methods for the decommissioning and remediation of the Hydrazine Blending and Storage Facility (HBSF). Part of the HBSF study is an evaluation of options for the treatment/removal of associated wastewater. The specific objectives of the study are: to investigate alternative approaches for treatment/removal of wastewater contaminated with low levels of hydrazine and hydrazine related compounds. The technologies to be investigated will include those listed in Table 1-1; to conduct treatability studies with the most promising candidate technology(s) to verify treatment effectiveness and identify key design variables; and to develop a comprehensive decommissioning assessment. The decommissioning assessment will support and be incorporated into the Rocky Mountain Arsenal (RMA) wide feasibility study alternative assessment (Tank 28).
