Data Analysis Support for the SPREE Instruments on the TSS-1 Shuttle Flight

Abstract

The objective of this contract is a scientific study of the interactions between the first flight of the Tethered Satellite System (TSS-1) and the ionosphere to increase understanding of the structure and current characteristics of high-voltage sheaths in the ionosphere. A paper describing the results of a review of the data sets for evidence of presheath heating around the subsatellite is included.
