Contaminants in Aquatic Systems at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal.

Abstract

The objective of this study, conducted from may to November, 1984, are to: document the amount of Aldrn, Dldrn, Endrn, and HG in various trophic levels of aquatic life throughout the lower lakes and the pathway these contaminants follow from sediment to fish; and to document the difference in Aldrn, Dldrn, Endrn, and HG contamination between samples captured from lake bottom locations known to be high or low in sediment contamination. The body of the report consists of data on water quality and contaminant concentrations in aquatic vegetation, aquatic insects, amphibians, and fish. Appendices: Laboratory methods, Colorado epidemiological pesticide study center ; laboratory quality control; and preliminary investigation of Aldrn, Dldrn, Endrn, and HG residues in eggs and young of waterfowl nesting at RMA
